PARANORMALS →

→ Paranormal abilities are a relatively new phenomenon resulting from the changes in human DNA which causes people to be gain ability. These changes are generally not triggered until puberty unless a paranormal child is actively taught to try and access and master abilities at a younger age. However, even then, it is unlikely the full potential of their power will blossom until early teens. Paranormals have only really 'evolved' into existence in the past 65 years.

→ The blood of a paranormal is a very, very precious commodity. Vampires love it, and even claim the blood tastes slightly different depending on which sort you get. For this reason, paranormals have been hunted in the past.

→ Paranormals cannot sense one another unless they are Telepathic or have the Sensing ability.

→ They are born with only one ability and they can't gain/learn a new one in the future.

→ Considering there are so few Paranormals out there and due to their struggle over being so closely tied to their human brethren but still so different, the Paranormals are secretive about their abilities. Recently, though, paranormals have started to try and piece together a group of their own, even if it's just to hang out with people who are more like themselves. The benefit of such a group would be both educational and protective over time.

→ When a Paranormal is turned, whether it be by a therianthrope or a vampire, they keep their ability but do not gain anything other than immortality and one basic advantage from the race they have become. Everything else will remain on human levels. For example, a paranormal vampire might have telekinesis, be immortal, and have heightened speed. If they become a vampire, they will no longer be susceptible to human illness, however, and paranormals will not be able to get Charm no matter what.

STRENGTHS Depends on how much experience and practice they have with their ability.

WEAKNESSES Some consider their ability a weakness. Mortality and like all mortals, they are susceptible to all mortal weaknesses, illnesses and disease.


PARANORMAL ABILITIES →

PHYSICAL

• Accelerated Healing: The ability to rapidly heal all injuries much faster than any human would be able to.
• Invisibility: The ability to become camouflaged against one’s surroundings. [This ability would most likely be exceedingly draining to the Paranormal, and their strength, age and practise would dictate how long they would be able to stay cloaked.]
• Intangibility: The ability to phase through solid matter without harming oneself.
• Speed: The ability to move faster and with more agility than other humans.
• Strength: The ability to move, lift and manipulate objects with strength and force that other humans do not possess.
• Reflexes: The ability to move and react faster than any normal human. [Not to be confused with Speed.]
• Nocturnal Vision: The ability to see clearly even in the darkest areas.


MENTAL/EMOTIONAL

• Telepathy: The ability to read the thoughts of others.
• Telekinesis: The ability to move or touch things without physically doing so.
• Empathy: The ability to sense the emotions of those around you.
• Mental Control: The ability to alter the thoughts or perceptions of others, or to physically control their actions.
• Memory Manipulation: The ability to manipulate, erase or add to the memories of others.


ELEMENTAL

• Electrokinesis: The ability to create or manipulate electrical forces or pulses.
• Hydrokinesis: The ability to create or manipulate water or bodies of liquid.
• Pyrokinesis: The ability to create or manipulate fire and heat.
• Glacialkinesis: The ability to create or manipulate ice and cold.
• Aerokinesis: The ability to create or manipulate air and wind.
• Terrakinesis: The ability to create or manipulate the earth, dirt, ground, sand, etc.
• Chlorokinesis: The ability to create or manipulate plant life.


LOCATION

• Echolocation: The ability to paint a mental picture of one’s surroundings and sense where objects and people may be using the manipulation of sound waves.
• Sensing: The ability to sense another person and decipher whether or not they are a vampire, therianthrope or paranormal and, if the latter, what powers they possess.


SPIRITUAL

• Mediumship: The ability to communicate with and see the spirits of the dead.
• Precognition: The ability to perceive the future, or small glimpses of it, or a “danger sense” that alerts them to any oncoming peril.
• Psychometry: The ability to decipher details about the past or present of a particular object, place or person by being in physical contact with it.
• Astral Projection: The ability to control one’s dreams as well as enter into the dreams of others and manipulate them.
